Brand Manager Pushes Life and Brand to Extremes

Hansen Beverage Company Brand Manager Pushes Life and Brand to Extremes

Corona, CA, April 06, 2009 -- Steve Jugan Crowned Executive Level Crossover Athlete 2009 Push Champion.

When Steve Jugan Allied Brand manager for Hansen's Beverage Company decided to make Lost Energy the title sponsor for an ultimate actions sports adventure game, he decided to show his true and pure dedication by walking the walk or should we say Board, Ride, Bike, Skate, Wake and Surf. Jugan from Yorba Linda, California joined a group of other action sport junkies to do something that has never been done before and be part of The Push-Lost Energy invitational. The Push is a one day, non-stop "Hexathlon" of action sports designed to literally push an athlete both mentally and physically from one event to another for 15 hours straight across 160 miles of some of Southern California's most beautiful locations.

Jugan, the self-professed action sports enthusiast and native of California, has spent most of his life in the snow, dirt and surf, so when the founder of The Push Bob Krause and partner Marco Thompson approached him he was sold. "I get a ton of pitches from people with a lot of ideas, but I had never heard of an event quite like this one," said Jugan. Convinced that the event catered to hit his target demographics and psychographics, he offered his event prowess to the table and became the title sponsor. "The Push is a wicked combination of six of the most popular action sports - Snowboarding, Motocross, Downhill Mountain Biking, Skateboarding, Wakeboarding and Surfing - all mixed up into a day long adventure," says Krause, the creator of The Push. This concept was devised by him and his 18 year old son Ryan as the ultimate father-son bonding experience in which they completed 23 non stop action sports while traveling over 300 miles across southern California all in one day.

The Push was held on March 28, 2009, participants included Amateur and Pro athletes as well as a mix of sport enthusiasts and business executive types all hoping to be crowned the worlds best crossover athlete. Participants arrived Friday night March 27th at the Lake Arrowhead Resort for an evening of schmoozing, food and some basic training. At 8am the next morning they were on the slopes and ready to roll. From that point on participants drove from location to location showing off their very best to the judges while the event organizers had every type of board and bike waiting for them at each location.

"I can't wipe the smile off my face, 2010 is going to be unreal," says Jugan. "Only in So-Cal can you be on the slopes in the morning, ride the desert in the day and then surf until the sun goes down.

Nutrition for Athletes Covered At Seminar

"Sports Medicine and Coaching" Workshop Held at Advanced Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Institute in Freehold, New Jersey

Dr. Gerardo Goldberger, an orthopedic surgeon, sports medicine physician, and triathlete, hosted a workshop at Advanced Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institute with Multisport Coach, Tom Manzi in Freehold, New Jersey.

Freehold, NJ, February 28, 2009 -- The "Sports Medicine and Coaching" workshop at the Pond View Professional Park in Freehold brought together an acclaimed orthopedic surgeon and a respected coach, resulting in a rousing success. More than 70 participants from all over New Jersey gathered to meet with experts who analyzed and discussed the finer details of each individual's athletic fitness and techniques. Experts also gave feedback about the strengths and weaknesses of workshop participants.

The workshop, sponsored by Dr. Gerardo Goldberger, an orthopedic surgeon at Advanced Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in Freehold, and Tom Manzi, Multisport Coach of Training Bible Coaching in Pt. Pleasant, featured state-of-the-art technology to analyze such athletic techniques as foot strikes in running and swim strokes. The fitness center at CentraState Medical Center provided the aquatic facilities for the swim stroke analysis. Specialists properly fitted bikes for cyclists; others analyzed runners' feet to make shoe recommendations; and a nutrition expert discussed sports nutrition, among other presentations.

Dr. Goldberger, a board certified orthopedic surgeon in sports medicine and spine subspecialties, was available throughout the day to assist coaches and therapists with multidisciplinary evaluations. A triathlete himself, Dr. Goldberger also discussed issues related to multisports. In addition, he educated attendees on physical ailments that might hinder them in reaching personal fitness goals.

"Our goal was to help athletes improve not just their health and fitness, but also their performance," Dr. Goldberger said. "Based on the enthusiastic response of those who attended, we believe we accomplished exactly that."

"The expert presenters at our Sports Medicine and Coaching Workshop put a spotlight on sports nutrition, health, and fitness," Manzi said, "as well as recommendations about how to improve techniques and enhance sports specific performance."

Seminar topics included, "How to Train by Using the Periodization Model," "How to Improve Technique," "Designing a Training/Race Plan," and "Nutrition for Athletes."

Manzi said plans are already in the works for a follow-up seminar. "We would like to have another conference, probably in the fall," Manzi said. "We already had a meeting on it. We sent a survey out to see what type of presenters they would like to see."

Those interested in participating as a presenter should contact Manzi at tmanzi@trainingbible.com. News media are welcome to attend.

Dr. Gerardo Goldberger is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon as well as chairman of the department of orthopedics at CentraState Medical Center. He has been an Orthopedic Surgery Board Examiner for the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics since 2003. Dr. Goldberger specializes in spine surgery, knee and shoulder arthroscopy, and total joint replacement, and has a comprehensive approach to patient care. His particular interest in sports medicine stems from his personal involvement in sports as an athlete and physician. Notably, he was a field physician at the Olympic Games in 1996 and at the Soccer World Cup in 1994. An athlete himself, Dr. Goldberger rowed at Rutgers University. As a competitive triathlete, he participated in multiple Ironman races in both the United States and Europe. In 2007, he represented the USA as a member of the National Team at The Aquathlon World Championships held in Mexico. His personal understanding about the demands of competitive sports allows him to provide an individualized treatment plan for competing athletes, based on the latest minimally invasive techniques in shoulder and knee arthroscopy.

Texans Enjoy NASCAR

TMS_6Apr08_13
NASCAR Comes to Texas

The thirteenth annual Samsung 500 races into Fort Worth this Sunday.

Austin, TX - April 13 -- It's been 11 years since NASCAR first came to Texas, with the opening of the Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth back in 1996. With an appropriate venue came big ticket NASCAR events like the Samsung 500 and Dickies 500 (both of the NEXTEL Cup series), the first of which gears up this Sunday, April 15th.

Race week kicks off with the Dallas Morning News Qualifying Days this Thursday and Friday. The O'Reilly 300, a NASCAR Busch Series race, is scheduled for Saturday. All culminating in the excitement and fanfare that is the Samsung 500 on Sunday.

What makes this event truly Texan is the winner's tradition -- the donning of a cowboy hat and the firing of six-shooters. You don't get more Lone Star than that. But for the past 12 Samsung 500 victories, a different victor has held the honor. Will 2007 be the year that a repeat winner is finally crowned or will we see a 13th racer celebrate?

Watch your favorite NASCAR stars take on Texas' famed 1.5 mile track this weekend. Ticket City is offering deep discounts on anything from backstretch to pit-side seats. To purchase tickets, including one-day to four-day badges or Hospitality, should call (800) SOLD-OUT or go online to www.TicketCity.com.

Ticket Scams Investigated At Olympics

Investigation of Olympics Ticket Scams Continues, According to the Moriarty Leyendecker Erben Law Firm

HOUSTON & BOULDER, Colo.-- August 03, 2008 --An ongoing investigation of Olympics ticket scams has identified defrauded consumers throughout the world, according to the law firm of Moriarty Leyendecker Erben.

The law firm - whose senior partner, Jim Moriarty, was himself victimized by an official-looking ticket web site - has been contacted by individuals in several nations since the firm launched a web site (www.beijingticketscam.com) on Saturday to support the investigation.

"The consumer response to the investigation is extraordinary," Moriarty said. "Our team is reviewing longer-term litigation options, but with the opening ceremonies for the Games just a few days away, we're also trying to help these individuals salvage their Olympics trips. Their stories are heartbreaking. We've even heard from families of Olympians whose dreams to see their loved ones compete in China are at risk."

The International Olympic Committee and the U.S. Olympic Committee recently filed lawsuits in U.S. federal courts against operators of two web sites, alleging that they are using committee trademarks to deceive and defraud the public. The lawsuits do not seek to recover losses for defrauded consumers.

Moriarty said, "We believe the Olympic committees should have addressed this problem months ago, when consumer complaints first arose - not last week after the deadline for legitimate ticket holders to transfer Olympics tickets passed. That policy only compounds the problems of the victimized consumers who still hope to attend the Games."

For more information about the law firm's investigation, contact: Moriarty Leyendecker Erben, Attorneys at Law, www.beijingticketscam.com, 800-677-7095 or 713-528-0700; Houston Office: 1150 Bissonnet, Houston, Texas 77005; Boulder Office: 1123 Spruce Street, Boulder, Co 80302.
